Lee Big Stopper vs Hitech ProStop IRND 3.0 vs Haida ND3.0

Lee and Hitech filter are popular brands. But, what about Haida? Honestly, I just heard this brand some months ago while looking for filter holder for my Nikon 14-24 lens (read in review NiSi 150 Holder system).

So I did a little test for these three filters. Just to give a little more information, Lee Big Stopper and Haida ND3.0 are made of glass, while Hitech ProStop IRND is from resin.


For this test, I used Nikon D750 with Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR. I took the picture while the sun was shining bright. All the pictures below used WB Direct Sunlight (5300/ +7), and JPEG straight out of camera. So, here we go.

Best Filter Holder for 14-24mm

Because of no ideal combination between the square filter and its holder, I used to prefer buying Nikon 16-35mm lenses than Nikon 14-24mm. For another reason, in my opinion, the best filter so far is Lee. Unfortunately the Lee SW150 holder system is not good, there is a wide gap between the filter and its holder. It has light leak which, of course, affects the result of the photo.

Some brands, like LucrOit and WonderPana, produces better holder than Lee for the light leak problem, but they use a bigger size filter (165mm). As the Lee-fans-boy, I only want to use a holder that supports 150mm Lee filter. Long story short, I found the NiSi 150 Holder System.
